Just down the highway, the drag racing portion of the event kicked off at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce. The turnout of late model GM EFIs paled in comparison to last year's event because of the absence of the LS1Tech sponsored race, but it didn't seem to hurt overall attendence. The ORSCA 1/8-mile racing, in particular, created quite a bit of excitement as the 4- to 7-second dragsters violently blasted into the night. Surprisingly, a few of them even used aftermarket EFI fuel systems, not to mention Third or Fourth Gen body styles.
