The LSX Shootout car show will be a part of the already huge NMCA Auto Show & Shine, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17th and 18th. "These car show classes have been created to showcase and recognize the best LS-powered vehicles at the LSX Shootout," said Charlie Harmon, President of the NMCA series. "The LSX Shootout car show is as important as the drag race-we will have something for everyone who wants to bring their LS-powered car to participate in this historic event."
All LSX car show entries will receive a participant goodie bag and a collectible all-metal LSX Shootout license plate, and will be able to park together to showcase their awesome LS-powered vehicles. LSX show cars will compete for the following awards:

NEW FOR '09 ... THE "AVERAGE JOE" AWARD:
New for 2009, $4,000 in cash will be given away, courtesy of GM Performance Parts host dealer, Scoggin-Dickey. $1,000 will be awarded in Drag Radial and All Motor to the Average Joe, racers in the middle of the pack in each race category at the end of Saturday's qualifying. For the LSX Rumble class, a $1,000 Average Joe award will be given to the racer who qualifies right in the middle of the pack. In LSX True Street the $1,000 Average Joe award will go to one of three racers whose 3-run averages are right in the middle of the pack. Two or three names from the middle of the qualifying results for each class (2 if even number of racers, 3 if odd number of racers) will be put into a hat and the winners picked will each receive the $1,000 awards.
