Late Model Racecraft - 9.98
Taking the top spot on our list is David Brooks and Late Model Racecraft, with a killer 427 cubic-inch, F-1R blown 2010 Camaro. Not only is this the fastest 2010 in the country, it is also the first in the 9's, which is quite an accomplishment. On the dyno, this car made 914-rwhp through an automatic, which also puts it on top of the highest horsepower list! Stay tuned for more info on the beast in an upcoming issue of GMHTP.
Bryan Witherspoon - 10.28
Sporting a G6X3 camshaft, a pair of 1 7/8-inch long-tube headers and a 3-inch exhaust, the LG Motorsports/Nitrous Outlet supported 2010 Camaro is a true lesson in the "less is more" philosophy. Of course, the 200-rwhp worth of nitrous helps a little, but this car is still on a stock clutch, driveshaft, rear end and axles. A set of CNC-ported cylinder heads are on the way, along with an already installed NANO nitrogen system, so stay tuned to see if it can go in the 9's with the stock bottom end.
Advanced Racing Dynamics - 10.30
Owen Priest of Advanced Racing Dynamics is no stranger to fast F-Bodies, and his new 2010 Camaro is proof. Starting with a healthy shot of nitrous, ARD was well into the 11's, but a new 460+ cubic-inch LSX bullet is already installed and ready for running some healthy numbers. Unfortunately, the last track outing proved disastrous, almost completely destroying the stock rear end. After a long thrash at the LSX Shootout, the car is back together and Owen is looking to lay down some impressive runs soon.
Fastlane - 10.87
Currently the quickest and fastest in the country, the Fastlane 2010 Camaro proves that a well thought out single turbo combination is always hard to beat. Starting with the ZL1 Turbo kit, which includes a top-mounted Borg Warner 72mm turbocharger, Fastlane has concentrated on making a ton of power using the stock LS3, a plan that seems to be paying off. In an unusual twist, Fastlane has decided to use a manual LS3, which makes it not only the fastest overall 2010, but also the fastest 6-speed on the list.
Hennessey Performance Engineering - 10.95
The Hennessey HPE650 package will get you a set of CNC-ported cylinder heads, a custom camshaft, full exhaust and a Magnacharger TVS2300, pullied for 7-psi. With a rating of 650-hp, John Hennessey had no trouble becoming the first 2010 in the 10's, which is no small task. Moving forward, the much anticipated LS9 conversions are still in the works, and we expect to see some killer track times and dyno numbers once they start to hit the streets.
Speed Inc. - 11.00
Speed Inc. certainly didn't waste any time getting into the 2010 game, taking its stock 2010 Camaro oh-so-close to the 11's using the same exact parts they sell and install daily. The heart of this beast is a Magnuson TVS2300, which is pullied to just 10psi. SuperMaxx long-tube headers exhaust the spent gasses, while an SLP LoudMouth II lets everyone know who's coming. At over 4000-pounds and with a stock clutch, being on this list at all is truly impressive.
Livernois Motorsports - 11.02
In the battle for the fastest 2010, Andy Ricketts turned to Livernois Motorsports, who has chosen to go with the popular Magnacharger TVS2300 supercharger. This blower sits atop a stock L99 engine, stuffed with a non-DOD Stage 1B camshaft. Kooks long-tube headers flow into a Corsa catback, helping the 2010 expel all of it's horsepower in a hurry. Nitto 275/40/20 Drag Radials help this Camaro sixty-foot in the 1.6-second range, which is key to running such quick times. We had a chance to watch this car go rounds in Memphis, and it is quite the little sleeper.
Redline Motorsports - 11.32
Another big player in the turnkey 2010 market is Howard Tanner of Redline Motorsports. Its most popular package is sold through local dealers, and has already gone in the low 11's, with a matching 3-year warranty. Done with a Magnacharger on 5psi, Howard reports having some traction issues due to the stiff, road race-inspired aftermarket Pedders suspension. The Redline Motorsports' shop car will be hitting the track on 10-psi in the near future, which should move them well into the 10-second zone.
