Recent SAM graduate David Lazear from Gulf Coast Racing Engines put together a stout 408 combo with TFS 245cc heads and a Super Victor intake in only a week and a half, in a mad dash to make the Shootout. John Weeks helped dial-in the BS3 computer in no time to get him running a 9.41 at 144, and advance to the finals against his mentor, Judson Massingill. Unfortunately David was short on horsepower, giving up .4-second on the SAM Camaro, but with a new motor already in the works we know he'll be back next year. View Related Article
