The mostly stock, Duttweiler-rebuilt motor relies on 24 psi of boost from an Innovative Turbo GTS 66mm dual ball bearing turbo. Tuning is provided by a homemade chip, compliments of Julie's husband Jim who did most of the work on the '87 GN. Jim also fabricated a spacer plate and an LS1 MAF translator, in addition to retrofitting the circle track front upper control arms and a Howe aluminum radiator with a built-in oil cooler to shave nearly 30 pounds off the nose. Along with the fiberglass bumpers, cowl hood, and ballast, Jim says the GN has a 49/51 front-rear weight bias.
