Imagine going 11.88 with a naturally aspirated 1993 Formula, and you will understand why Doug Melanson has a hard time swallowing other LT1s going just as fast on the jug. In all fairness, Doug does have the benefit of a freshened motor with forged internals, ported and polished heads, an LT4 Hot Cam kit, a ported intake, and an Accel ignition. A Holley 52mm throttle body and a Suncoast Predator Ram Air hood help deliver the goods to the fortified powerplant with 1.75-inch long tube headers, a Random Tech cat, and a Flowmaster muffler passing the spent gas like everyone's favorite uncle at Thanksgiving. The 4L60E has been treated to a Trans Go shift kit and a 2800-stall converter. The suspension has been completely outfitted with BMR components including the rear control arms, Panhard bar, and lowering springs with subframe connectors tying everything together and Bilsteins softening the ride. Doug also installed 1LE sway bars and Firehawk 16-inch rims.
