Despite his car show aspirations, John kept the interior pretty simple, denying any "Pimp My Ride" fantasies he may have had. Billet pedals, doorsills, shift knob (for the B&M Ripper), radio, HVAC knobs, and gauge face add to the black-and-silver motif. The only enhancements to the factory Monsoon system are a satellite radio receiver and a Valentine One radar detector-to keep old Smokey off his trail. After all, what fun is 500-plus horsepower if you're not going to use it?
The WS6 has become quite a stress-reliever for John, as he continues his law studies, and it has also provided a common interest that he shares with his father and grandfather. The family yachting business has become so busy that they seldom get out on the water anymore, but the three always make time to go to car shows together. On a deeper level, John says the car is symbolic of a new milestone in his life. Long gone are the days of his youth, or the nitrous-huffing '98 Trans Am he sold a while back to make an investment. That investment appears to have paid off, as a pristine 6,000-mile WS6 and his daily-driven Hummer H2 have replaced those memories. Soon enough, another investment will be paying off, as the third year law and MA candidate is hoping to draw to a close his post-graduate studies. In this case, we're sure John and his WS6 are going places ... and fast! H
The grey leather interior remains simple and elegant; in plain view are billet knobs, pedals, and gauge faces. There are also billet overlays for the radio and HVAC controls, as well as an MSD shift light. | A Vortech V-9 SQ G-trim cranks out just 7 psi on the cam-only motor, but it doesn't max out until 20 psi or 800 cfm, using an impeller speed of 65,000 rpm. Vortech's air-to-water Maxflow Power Cooler chills the charged air with ease in closed-loop operation, using a front-mount heat exchanger and water reservoir. | Class and sophistication are the only two words to describe HRE's 547 three-piece wheels. The 18x9.5 front and 18x10 rear dimensions fit a set of polished Baer 6S six-piston front brakes and meaty BFG rubber. |
