Ruby Soho
Steve Sumner's Ruby Red '93 Corvette is yet another stunning example of all that Hawaii has to offer. Steve has been stationed in Pearl Harbor for the past seven years as a sonar technician submarine chief, and enjoys driving his stroked LT1 Vette whenever possible. The LT1 uses ported heads from CNC Cylinder Heads, a COMP Cams XE 230/236 grind cam, 1.6 rockers, a 58mm throttle body, Doug Rippie 1.75-inch stainless steel long-tube headers, and a Flowmaster Cat Back to produce 425 rwhp and 428 ft-lb of torque. The car has run a best of 11.61 at 119 mph at the Oahu track. A beefed-up 4L60, Vigilante 2800-stall converter, and Dana 44 with 3.75 gear have enabled a 1.70 60-foot time. Steve is styling and profiling with BFG KD rubber measuring 275 up front and 315 in the rear, and mounted on Grand Sport offset ZR1 style rims. This car also features a lowered suspension, which has helped on the autocross course.
