Desert SS
Steve Johnson has kept his '02 Camaro SS under lock and key since its purchase, to keep it in pristine condition. The Nevada native has only racked up a scant 1,613 original miles, but his desire to keep the mileage low has not and an SLP PowerFlo exhaust have been added in preparation for ported heads and a Thunder Racing cam. In the meantime, Taylor plug wires, NGK TR55 plugs, and an EFI Live tune make the best of the stock motor. A B&M shifter and Royal Purple fluid help navigate the T56, while Pedders bushings, Durastop pads, and Power Slot rotors assist the GTO on the street and autocross course. Julius rotates between a couple sets of rims and rubber for the summer, winter, and autocross course, including the stock 17s, 18s, and Voxx MG 17x8s with BFG KDWs. The rest of the styling has been made to mimic the Holden Monaro, including the '05 VZ front bumper and side markers, badging, and the addition of splashguards.

Julius Cheng of Pittsford, New York, was one of the first 125 people to jump on the Australian bandwagon back in 2004. His Quicksilver, T56-equipped GTO has since spent quite a bit of time in his garage and at Rochester, New York-based New Era Performance.
