While some G8 faithful may continue to wait impatiently until late 2009 for the G8 GXP to hit showrooms, others may soon drop their orders in favor of SLP's upcoming G8 Firehawk. David Hamburger of SLP was tight-lipped on the details except to say that it would be 50-state emissions legal, and that a naturally-aspirated and a supercharged version would be available with "more than impressive" performance.
Meanwhile, there are two modified G8 GXPs duking it out to become North America's fastest. New Jersey's own Matt Hauffe of Tune Time Performance, which we previously reported on (August '08), is looking to retain the title, as at the time of publication he traded his nitrous kit for a MagnaCharger set to kill with a tank full of race gas. Meanwhile Erik Radzins of House of Boost in Lenexa, KS tells us their shop car has already hit 11.0 at 129 mph with HOB's twin turbo kit. They hope to crack into the 10s without touching the motor or trans, however its 603 rwhp and 657 lb-ft of torque is hurting them as much as helping them on that account.
