Marking the 45th Anniversary of the Camaro, Chevrolet has announced the Anniversary Edition (RPO: H45) for the 2012 model year, which will be available on the 2LT and 2SS models (in both the coupe and convertible). This package will feature a number of unique elements to the exterior including: Carbon Flash Metallic exterior color, newly designed 20-inch Deep Silver painted aluminum wheels, Brilliant Red and Medium Charcoal 45th Anniversary stripe package and side body logo, the RS Package's high-intensity discharge headlamps with LED "halo ring," and body-color roof ditch moldings on the coupe or black top on the convertible. The interior has been enhanced as well with black leather-appointed seating surfaces with the 45th Anniversary logo embroidered into the front seats; red, white, and blue interior accent stitching; and white instrument and door panel inserts with the 45th Anniversary logo present on the passenger side of the instrument panel insert.
There are also several changes for the 2012 model year. Most notably the FE4 Performance Suspension will be utilized on all SS coupe models. The FE4 incorporates several of the design elements established during development of the ZL1 model, including improved suspension geometry—such as moving the rear sway bar outboard of the shock mounts. The sway bars will now be a solid 23mm front and 24mm rear, meanwhile the front and rear dampers have also been retuned. A new steering wheel, redesigned instrument panel, Bluetooth connectivity for iPhone and Android platforms, and redundant door lock switches located on both doors are among several interior improvements. As for the exterior, the rear spoiler will be standard on all models, Shark-fin (XM/OnStar antenna) is now body-colored with the RS Exterior Appearance Package on all coupe models, and Crystal Red Tintcoat (RPO: GBE—extra cost and interim availability) replaces Red Jewel Tintcoat in the color lineup.
