With the torque arm bracket, shifter, driveshaft, and hydraulic master cylinder hose disconnected, the trans-to-engine bolts are removed and the entire transmission comes out. Depending on your patience, the exhaust y-pipe may or may not interfere with this operation. Note the use of a trans jack, and the importance of supporting the engine oil pan in order to move the transmission straight back, pulling the input shaft out of the pressure plate.
