Adjustment procedure may differ from year to year. Ours started by tightening the valves to zero lash, or just enough to spin the pushrod with your fingers. Start with exhaust 1, 3, 4, 8 and intake 1, 2, 5, and 7 with the engine in position to fire the number one cylinder. Then, we turned the motor over one complete revolution so it was on number 6. Then we adjusted exhaust 2, 5, 6, 7 and intake 3, 4, 6, 8. Then you only need to warm up the engine and adjust them until they are all quiet.
