Zex is one of the most respected names in the business simply for its cut-no-corners approach to building nitrous kits. Texas Nitrous Technology
TNT is another up-and-coming nitrous company with an outstanding reputation and big popularity among the F-body crowd. Founded by the Texas company Specialty Motorsports, TNT was created to develop race-car quality nitrous systems at competitive prices. TNT systems are designed to run more on the rich side, in order to reduce cylinder temperature and preserve the motor.
The use of the patented Gas Blaster nozzles and spray bars allow a slightly richer condition while still promoting optimal atomization due to the nozzle's unique design. Both the LS1 and LT1 wet kits employ dual nozzles for more even distribution and a better spray pattern, which will ultimately be easier on the motor. The nozzles are mounted into a custom billet aluminum plate that bolts right up to the LT1 throttle body. Since LS1s have a single throttle body, an aluminum ring is used with an O-ring and set screw to hold it to the throttle body, while the factory or aftermarket bellows slip over the other end. Both kits are available in a 150-250-rwhp version with larger nitrous and fuel lines, fittings, a bottle valve, solenoids, and jets. However, TNT recommends those running 150hp shots and over upgrade to a high-flow fuel pump, forged rods and pistons, and detuning by two degrees of timing for every 100 hp. An MSD window switch is also highly recommended for all users, and most other safety devices are already included in the kit.
