The trans dipstick tube is installed, as is the ground strap, the TV cable, the shifter cable, the trans lines, and the rear trans mount. | The Metco driveshaft loop installs with four 13mm bolts. | The driveshaft is stock, but Cotton's installs new U-joints as the originals have lots of miles on them. |
Brian installs the factory driveshaft--four 7/16 bolts secure it to the rear. | The ATR headers come with a crossover that needs to be connected. Brian does the driver side first, and then tweaks the engine with a crowbar to lift it on the passenger side. This allows more room between the crossover and the passenger-side upper A-arm so the crossover pipe won't hit. | The torque converter is attached to the flywheel with three Loctite-covered bolts. |

The car is dropped down and Brian concentrates on finishing the engine bay. The coil pack and wires, ATR downpipe and external wastegate, breathers, and the intercooler plumbing are installed. Cotton's decided on a 4-inch intake pipe for this application, and young Cotton fabs it up. Brian used a saw to cut into the plastic below where the original air filter assembly was for the new intake system. From here, the radiator hoses and the MAP sensor connections are made, as are all of the vacuum, fuel and electrical connections. A trans cooler is mounted underneath the intercooler, and a Moroso line-lock is spliced into the brake lines. The next time you see this Buick, it'll be at the track!
