When the smoke cleared, we discovered we had picked up just shy of 11 SAE-corrected horses and over 13 lb-ft of torque. It is noteworthy that TTP's tailpipe-mounted wideband showed readings up to 1 point leaner than before the install. Precise apportionment of our power increase between exhaust efficiency improvements and simple leaning of the mixture would be impossible, but clearly, each played a role. We should also note that the above gains should not be considered the bottom line, as PCM recalibration is almost always necessary with the addition of long-tube headers. View Related Article
