As previously mentioned, the stock length pushrods are reused, and the new pedestals are outfitted with the offset L92 intake rockers and stock exhaust rockers. The rockers are torqued to 22 ft-lbs. |
The passenger-side valve cover on older LS1 cars needs to be clearanced for the offset intake rockers, which means removing the baffling and dividers. LS2- and LS6-style valve covers should not require such measures. |

The assembled intake is placed on top of the valley cover and all connections are established, including the rear vacuum line. Though the L76 has a slightly different vacuum line hookup, this should prove no problem... |
...for those already using an LS6 manifold, and won't require extending the vacuum line like on an LSX. |

Also note that with the LS7's 39-pound injectors installed in the manifold, you must use the supplied SLP plug-in injector adapters with an LS1 wiring harness. |
Since the test car is an F-body, the electronically-controlled throttle body is traded for a FAST 90mm cable throttle body. Daniecki Sr. also bolts up a conversion bracket onto the intake (included in the SLP kit), which affixes the cable. |

The most laborious chore in switching to the L76 (as different from an LS6 or an LSX) is that the three MAP sensor wires need to be extended on F-bodies.... |
...A soldering gun, wire cutters, wire strippers, and a few feet of wire are all it takes to rectify this problem. |

The two Danieckis lowered the Trans Am on top of the powertrain and K-frame assembly, and after a few hours of work ... Voila! To the untrained eye, the L92 heads and L76 intake are much less conspicuous than the previous setup,... | |
