The pins, boots, and pad backs are thoroughly lubed and installed, and the brake lines are installed onto the new calipers and torqued to 23 lb-ft. The calipers are again mounted, and the last task is fully bleeding the brake system with Castrol LMA high-temp fluid, which exceeds DOT 4 specs. Finally! | Problem: Worn skinny tires, 16x8 rims Solution: 275mm Nitto 555s, SLP 17x9 rims
The Z currently runs stock 16x8 rims with 245/50/16 Michelin Pilots that are seriously worn down. Time to add some grip in the form of Nitto rubber. The NT555s are an ultra-high-performance summer tire with 300 treadwear, A traction, and A temperature ratings. Nitto balances good grip with decent wear by combining a dry-traction compound with an optimized tread pattern, created to provide a large contact patch under braking, cornering, and accelerating. We'll be adding more grip by increasing tire size, as well: 275/40/17s will be at all four corners. You can grab the 555s for around $150 each. | In order to mount those 17s, we picked up a set of SLP's 17x9 SS rims (PN 80041, $1,131). Not only will these five-spokes provide sharper handling over stock 16x8s, they are strong and look great in chrome; and they won't get bent out of shape after battling NYC's killer potholes. |

Brake Testing
I used Raceway Park's strip to perform brake testing with our Stalker radar gun. 100-0 and 60-0 testing was done separately, and multiple stops would be done for both. The final number is an average from all accurate runs.
