Short Stuff
Katech Performance is no stranger to CTS-Vs, having built the championship-winning race motors since its inception in the SCCA Speed World Challenge. Translating that success into the street-car aftermarket, Katech has developed a short-throw shifter for CTS-Vs designed to reduce travel by 30 percent. Unlike typical aftermarket shifters, though, the Katech unit does not transmit excessive noise into the cabin, thanks to its two-piece design.

Lighten Up
Thankfully GM has given us ample brakes on our F- and Y-bodies, but unfortunately this seems to cause a problem when we go to bolt up a set of drag wheels. Weld Racing has the solution with its new 17x4-inch one-piece forged wheel, available in two styles. No modification to the chassis or brakes is necessary to bolt these babies up, and yet they will still provide significant reduction in weight and rolling resistance. If light, strong, and easy-to-install pushes your button, then mate these wheels to a set of Hoosier skinnies.

Big Mouth
Precision MetalCraft's line of sheetmetal intake manifolds can take your LS1, LS2, LS7, or L92 to the next level. A raised 3-inch profile and one-piece tapered runners with integral velocity stacks (for smooth airflow transition) offer significant improvement over the factory piece. Billet mounting flanges have factory-style O-ring grooves for a great seal, and a bottom-mounted fitting plate includes one 1/4-inch NPT and three 1/8-inch NPT female fittings for additional lines. Billet fuel rails are included and tapped to accept -8 fuel lines and either factory or aftermarket injectors. Each intake is available with either a 75mm or 90mm throttle-body opening, and retails for $2,250.
