Since the oil pump is spaced forward slightly, a slight bend to the pickup tube bracket (which holds it to a main stud) is required. Also, we got our sticky fingers on this nifty "oil girdle" from BRP Hot Rods, which allows both boltholes in the oil pump to be used (instead of just one) thereby providing a more reliable seal for the pickup tube's O-ring. For just $20, that's cheap insurance! Subsequent to this photo being taken, we find the girdle's outward edge needs to be ground a bit to allow the front cover to go on; this is thanks only to the oil pump being spaced forward, and we doubt there would be such an issue if using a single-row timing chain.
