Looking at the original (bottom) and BMR (top) K-members it's easy to see how the BMR unit reduces weight and frees up room. The factory part is a weldment made up of sheetmetal stampings whereas the BMR is constructed of 0.120 wall, 1.5-inch diameter DOM tubing and laser cut 3/16-inch plates resulting in a much higher level of fit and finish than OEM. Our OEM K-member required several hours of cleanup, sanding, grinding, trips to the powdercoater, and a treasure hunt for replacement fasteners-most don't look anywhere near this good.
