Even though BMR manufactures its rod end spacers to stack up to the factory crush sleeve width, they can't account for any variation in manufacturing tolerance or abuse that may have occurred to the car. In this case, the LCA bracket on the rearend was about 1/16 of an inch wider than it should have been. Although tightening the fastener might close this gap, it would place undue stress on the fastener and could result in premature failure or noise. A washer was inserted to take up the extra space allowing proper torque on the joint. View Related Article
