Using a special fixture to accurately locate the lifter bores over the cam, Craig reamed the lifter bosses in preparation for being bushed. Once this procedure is finished, the valve lifter will ride exactly over the lobe of the cam. A bronze bushing will be friction-fit and drilled to supply oil flow.
